About Eurorisk Marine Services Ltd
Our company is owned primarily by Spiros N Apostolopoulos and Electra Apostolopoulou. Their respective backgrounds are freely available upon request. Both have a wide range of experience in the insurance field with experience in both liability insurances and property insurances. Their knowledge base comes from the competitive Marine Insurance sector and are involved in both placements of such insurances and on handling claims for our clients.
Having been born in the United Kingdom and lived there for a great portion of their early life into adulthood and early careers, they are both well versed in the market practices and customary actions of the industry to be able to expertly assist our clients.
Our Team
Spiros N. Apostolopoulos
Managing Director
Spiros was born in London and lived there for the greater part of his life. He also studied and worked in the UK, acquiring a bachelor’s degree from the department of Electronic and Computer Engineering at Brunel University in London. It was there that he later attained a Masters in the same discipline and taught undergraduates for three years as an assistant lecturer
In 2004, he was engaged as Project Manager in Greece in the Construction Industry until 2010. He joined Eurorisk in 2010 and NSA PC in 2011, serving in the capacity of business development executive. At the same time, he became a fully qualified Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Shipbrokers. He then went on to attain the Greek insurance qualifications from the Bank of Greece as both an Insurance Broker and Insurance Intermediary. It was after these influential experiences that he became fully involved in insurance placements.
Spiros is currently involved in insurance placements of Marine and Aviation Risks and works to keep on the pulse of Greek marine finance. He’s actively involved in consulting for Greek marine finance institutions as well as in the placement of Marine Finance Risk Insurance. He has been placing Mortgagee's Interest Insurance and Mortgagee’s Additional Perils Insurance for the ship finance sector for over 10 years, having handled multiple claims cases.
Electra Apostolopoulos
Managing Director
Electra was born and brought up in London, studying at highly regarded London universities. She graduated with BA Economics from Brunel University and followed this with an MSc in Insurance and Risk Management from CASS Business School (City University of London). She is a Chartered Insurer, qualifying as an ACII member of the Chartered Insurance Institute of London in 2004.
She began her career in the Banking sector, first working for Citibank in London, and then continuing on to work for AON UK Limited in London. She also served as a Lloyds’ broker in the Risk Management Services department, servicing the insurance needs of large multinational companies with centralised global insurance policies.
Further to moving to Athens in September 2005, Electra is now a member of both the Eurorisk SA and NSA PC teams. She specialises in the placement and servicing of Marine Risks, including but not limited to Blue Water and Brown Water Insurance covers. At the same time, she is very involved in corporate Land-based insurance covers like Directors' & Officers Insurance, Cyber, and other more technically complex insurance covers.
